On Sunday September 1, we welcomed John-Mark Cockram and Darrin Lindsay into their new roles as co-pastors of Kingsview FMC.

Darrin Lindsay, originally from Sarnia, has been a part of our church since 1997. Having moved to Brampton, Darrin was directed to Kingsview FMC by former Bishop, Gary Walsh.
Since then Darrin has immersed himself in life at Kingsview. Undoubtedly his most significant action was taking Sharon Biggs, a daughter of the church, to be his wife in 2002; his most recent achievement has been leading us as Transition Pastor.

During this transition process Sharon has worked alongside Darrin, willingly and capably shouldering additional responsibility for the church’s music and worship schedule.

Now Pastor Darrin steps into his newest role. He dons the mantle of Co-Pastor, primarily responsible for Administrative, Missional and Vision Leadership.

He has prepared himself over the years through study, attaining his Master of Theological Studies in 1995 and ordination in 2013. Three pastors have mentored him, especially Rev. Howard Olver who retired from pastoring Kingsview in 2013 after 13 years of service.

Darrin is gifted in seeing the potential in everyone, considering it a joy to coach those that are hungry to grow spiritually, relationally and vocationally.

He says: “My heart is in the community, leading Christians to develop sensitivity to the issues facing people in multicultural neighbourhoods and creating structures to facilitate this kind of ministry. I believe that I have the expertise needed to help Kingview continue to reach their community, and go deeper in developing lasting relationships focused on Christian discipleship.

God bless you Pastor Darrin and Sharon for your faithfulness! May God continue to form a beautiful destiny for you together as you serve Him here in new roles.

John-Mark Cockram joins us as Co-Pastor, primarily responsible for Corporate Worship, Discipleship and Pastoral Care.

Pastor John-Mark (aka Pastor J-M), his wife Lorali (Lori) and their two daughters Mallory and Sophia have already moved from Barrie into our neighbourhood, just a couple of blocks north of the church.

We got a glimpse of their approach of putting their all in with God when John-Mark visited Kingsview with the Ghana Mission team a few years ago. The family had sold their home here in Canada to spend two years living and ministering in Ghana, West Africa where John-Mark worked as a cultural liaison. There, he and Lori were instrumental in establishing a lasting connection between the Free Methodist Ghana Mission and the Free Methodist Church in Canada.

Since returning to Canada, John-Mark has continued following God’s call to ministry, studying for his Masters of Divinity at Tyndale and tracking towards ordination.

Pastor J-M is a creative thinker gifted with the ability to synthesize and communicate a variety of biblical and theological concepts in diverse ways.

He says: “True communion with the Trinity happens when we can be honest with God and with one another in an environment of mutual encouragement… our gathering serves to encourage us in the task of being Jesus’ disciples. … We allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth about Jesus Christ, the Son, and through the Spirit’s transforming power, we live lives that bring praise to our Heavenly Father.

We are thrilled to have you join us John-Mark, Lori, Mallory and Sophie. Welcome to Kingsview!
