There’s a long tradition in the Anglican, Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches of observing the Stations of the Cross, especially on Good Friday.  Historically there are 14 stations, but not all have a specific scriptural reference.

Contemporary use of the stations has developed or perhaps returned to a biblically-based spiritual practice.

Essentially, it is a guided prayer time.  Believers go from station to station, meditating upon and praying through the different scenes of Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross.

This spiritual practice is intended to be an extended form of devotion; identifying our own sinfulness and Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice in preparation for the Celebration of Easter.

The 11:00 a.m. Good Friday Service at Kingsview will focus on The Stations of the Cross.
