Natural Church Development is an organization dedicated to helping pastors grow healthy churches. They assist churches with analysis and tools for increasing health.
One question NCD asks in their church survey, “Is there a lot of laughter in your church?”
While some people would question whether or not it is really important to laugh in church, we should note that joy is a fruit of the Spirit and it’s pretty hard to be joyful and not laugh. Laughter generally indicates people are relaxed and enjoying themselves.
We should take our relationship with God seriously. We should be serious about doing what Jesus calls us to do, but we should not take ourselves too seriously. Laughter is good for the soul.
