Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
(Psalm 4:1)

  • Pray for those in distress at this time. Ask God to comfort them in his mercy and to hear their prayers for help. Send a card, email, or make a phone call to a friend in need of encouragement.
  • One of the marks of true Christian community is that it “Confronts the Powers” – confess the areas in your life where false gods and lies or delusions have crept into your heart. What things do you love more than Jesus? Pray for God’s Spirit to prune us and make us fruitful branches.
  • Our prayers are heard and answered! Praise God for his abiding faithfulness, even when we are unfaithful. Ask him to continue to set apart his people for their mission in the world.
  • Is there anger in your life? Spend some time in silence listening to God and ask him to correct any unrighteous anger that you have held on to.
  • Do you worship God daily? Ask God to show you what the “sacrifices of the righteous” would look like in your life this month. Take time to praise God for your life and your re-birth in Jesus!
  • Trust the Lord for your family’s provision – ask him to shine the “light of his face” on you and be generous with what he provides.
  • Thank the Lord for the peace he gives. Ask God for the safety and freedom of his peace for yourself, your family and for others. Take time to rest and reflect on God’s goodness.
