Timothy Christian School Movie Ministry recently held their first community movie night with a showing of Facing the Giants, an inspiring story of faith and football with the theme “all things are possible with God.”

The second one is showing on Saturday, December 5th, and while it’s targeting a younger audience, who doesn’t love a good VeggieTales movie! (See http://www.timothycs.com/movies for details.)

If you don’t already know, movies are such a great way to connect our faith with friends and family, whether they have a personal relationship with Jesus or not. Many films contain great messages of forgiveness, reconciliation, and hope.

Especially during the Christmas season, it seems that even Hollywood can be more tolerant of Christmas stories; witness Disney’s release of A Christmas Carol. There are so many movies to choose from – share a movie with someone who needs to hear a message of hope this month!

Annual AFEY Children’s Christmas Party

The annual AFEY Children’s Christmas Party is taking place on Saturday, Dec. 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodbine Banquet Hall on Highway 27/Rexdale Blvd. This incredible event has developed over the years and now serves well over 300 local children and their families. Party goers up to age 12 will enjoy movies, games, activities and a brunch buffet.

They will also receive care packages, loot bags, and of course a gift from Santa. Volunteers from Kingsview have been a great help in past years and are needed again. If you’re interested, please contact Pastor Darrin – we need help setting up, transporting kids to & from the banquet hall, packing loot bags, serving brunch, and even face painting – this is one of the “funnest” community events I know of, you don’t want to miss it!

KVFM Children’s Christmas Program

Kingsview’s Children’s Christmas Program will take place on Sunday morning, December 13th. We are trying something a bit different this year. You may have heard about the Liturgical Dance Workshop that took place back in November.

This group of enthusiastic youth will be ministering to the congregation, along with music and a presentation from kids in the Toddlers class right up to Grade 5. Thanks to Shirlena Best, Jan Burgess and all the Sunday School teachers & helpers for their work in pulling the program together – God bless you!
