The Night of Prayer & Worship hosted by the Kingsview Refugee Sponsorship Group was held on September 24th. It was a powerful night of unity as our Kingsview community came together to seek the will of God and pray for the Sohail family.
We were blessed with the soulful music of Nadia Brissett and Shelley-Ann Brown, who led us in worship. We were also challenged as a congregation to lean into the power of God. Despite the frustrations regarding the slow process of our refugee sponsorship application, Pastor John-Mark reminded us that it is our call to practice patience and participate with God in his will through prayer and action.
We received updates from the Sohail family, including a video update by Sohail Arshad and Sonia Sohail. We were encouraged by their hope in Christ, that despite their desire for the quick process of their refugee application, they are content to rest in God’s timing.
We are thrilled to announce that our free will offering brought in a total of $2,439, which will go toward the monthly costs of the Sohail family while they are in Thailand and resettlement costs once they are approved to come to Canada.
We were reminded to keep the cause of the persecuted Christian top of our hearts and minds. Though we are separate, we are not removed from their suffering. We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:31).
